Dr Frank Occhino

Dr Charles Frank Occhino is an Australian-born and experienced Doctor who speaks two languages – Italian and English. Dr Occhino grew up in the Redlands area. He obtained his Medical and Masters Degrees at the University of Queensland. He has practiced in Ayr, North Queensland, and Corinda for almost 40 years.

Since graduation he has always had an interest in medical education and to this end he has tutored 3rd year medical students at The University of Queensland as well as being a Preceptor for them at Corinda. Dr Occhino spent 2 years in residency at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and 3 months as the Acting Medical Superintendent at Prospering Hospital. He has spent 10 years in private practice in Ayr, North Queensland and 26 years in Corinda, where he currently practises.

Dr Occhino is skilled in the areas of Men’s health, sexual health, mental health, immunisation, family care, paediatrics and more. His patients have described him as a very caring Doctor with a great bedside manner. Dr Occhino goes out of his way to make his patients feel comfortable, even when discussing difficult topics.

As a full time GP at SmartClinics Corinda Medical Centre, Dr Occhino is available to see patients from Monday to Thursday and the occasional Saturday! Frank’s favourite thing about being a SmartClinics GP is his ability to practise his own way, without the responsibility of practice management.

Frank has been married to his lovely wife Maria for 39 years and together they have 3 married children and 6 grandchildren. Frank thoroughly enjoys travelling, wines, scotch, reading and computers.
